Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney heard calling Benfica player a ‘f***ing diving c***’ in furious outburst during Europa League victory
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney had some very choice words for Benfica’s Darwin Nunez after he went down to the ground too easily during their Europa League clash on Thursday evening.
The Gunners came back from behind to secure their place in the last-16 of the tournament as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed home Bukayo Saka’s inch-perfect cross to stun their Portuguese opponents.
While they desperately chased the winner in the the 84th minute, Nunez went flying to the ground after a challenge by Tierney.
And the Scotland international’s furious reaction was captured on camera.
“You’re a f***ing diving c***, man”, Tierney could be heard saying as Nunez laid on the ground.
You can have a listen to his furious reaction below, but be warned, there is bad language used…
You wouldn’t expect anything less from Tierney, who has become a fan favourite in no time at the Emirates for his never-say-die attitude.
The 23-year-old rarely puts in a bad display and it was he who got Arsenal back on track to claim the victory as he rifled in the equaliser in the 67th minute of the clash.
And the left-back insisted Arsenal’s late victory proves his side can triumph through adversity.
